Privacy Policy

ACELA Consulting LLC (“ACELA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a managed services provider based in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information submitted through our website at acelaco.com and through our business communications.

This policy covers our website visitors, prospective clients, and business contacts. It does not govern data we process on behalf of our managed services clients — that data is handled under the terms of each client’s Master Services Agreement and, where applicable, a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA) for HIPAA-covered engagements.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when you:

  • Submit a contact or inquiry form on our website
  • Email or call us
  • Schedule a meeting or consultation
  • Opt in to receive SMS text messages from us

This may include your name, business name, email address, phone number, and any information you include in your message. We do not collect payment card data through our website.

We also collect standard web analytics data (page views, referral sources, browser type, approximate location) through tools such as Google Analytics. This data is aggregated and not linked to individual identities.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to inquiries and provide requested services
  • Communicate about proposals, contracts, and ongoing engagements
  • Send operational or account-related communications
  • Send SMS messages you have opted in to receive
  • Improve our website and marketing effectiveness
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

3. SMS Communication

ACELA Consulting offers two-way SMS (text message) communication with clients and prospects. This section describes how we collect, use, and protect mobile phone numbers and the contents of SMS communications.

How we collect mobile phone numbers

We collect mobile phone numbers when you:

  • Submit our website contact form and provide a phone number
  • Provide your phone number verbally during a call with our team
  • Initiate a text message to one of ACELA Consulting’s published business numbers
  • Share your number as part of a signed service agreement or client onboarding

How we use SMS

We use SMS only to respond to inbound messages from clients and prospects, coordinate IT support tickets, confirm scheduling, and share brief service-related updates. We do not send marketing, promotional, or unsolicited SMS. Message frequency varies based on the conversation.

Consent

By providing your mobile phone number or by sending a text message to ACELA Consulting, you consent to receive SMS messages from us related to your inquiry or service. Message and data rates may apply.

Opt-out

You can opt out of SMS communication at any time by replying STOP to any message from ACELA Consulting. Once you opt out, we will not send further SMS messages from that number unless you re-initiate contact.

Help

For assistance, reply HELP to any SMS from ACELA Consulting, or contact us at 612-367-4137 or support@acelaco.com.

4. Information Sharing

We share information only as necessary to operate our business:

  • Service providers: We use third-party tools to run our business, including HaloPSA (ticketing and CRM), NinjaRMM (remote monitoring), Microsoft 365 (email and productivity), QuickBooks Online (billing), and Zoom (communications). These vendors are contractually bound to handle data appropriately.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ACELA, our clients, or others.
  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Data Retention

We retain contact and inquiry information for as long as necessary to maintain a business relationship or as required by applicable law. You may request deletion of your information at any time by contacting us directly (see Section 7).

6. Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold. Our own systems operate under the same security standards we deploy for our clients, including multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection, and encrypted communications. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights and Contact Information

Minnesota residents may have rights under the Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act (MCDPA) with respect to personal data we hold about them. Because ACELA’s website collects data primarily in the context of B2B business inquiries, most interactions fall outside the scope of consumer privacy statutes. However, we will honor reasonable requests to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you.
